NYC Trip

We had a wonderful opportunity to explore NYC with our good friends from Sem a couple weeks ago.  Adam and Laura Matheny are also on vicarage right now on Long Island.  In fact, we're the only two couples from St. Louis placed on vicarage in the state of New York, so we figured we just HAD to meet up sometime during this year!  They were such gracious hosts and awesome tour guides.    We had five children ages five and under exploring the sights with us -- they all did a great job!  There was PLENTY to look at, that's for sure!  We're so thankful for the opportunity to explore that part of the country... hope you enjoy our brief NYC montage.  (Thanks again for everything, Mathenys!!!!!!)

The drive to NYC was beautiful!  The trip looked much like this until we got about
1.5 hours away from the city.  Gorgeous.

Our first sight: walking the Brooklyn Bridge.  (One World Trade Center has the large
"needle" on the top in the upper center of this picture.)

Ground Zero.  Beautiful and devastating at the same time.

Bowling Green Bull on Wall Street.

Left: Statue of Liberty.  Right: Ellis Island.

The ocean vents at Battery Park.

The Mathenys were excellent train and subway navigators...

A day at Long Beach.

Hours of fun on the beach.

We enjoyed the world famous Nathan's Hot Dog stand.  YUM.

Day #2 in the city brought us to Central Park where the kids
were happy to climb these stones.

Saks Fifth Avenue

30 Rock

Times Square

Walking 14 miles in the city over two days with five children made us ALL feel like this.
