HE PASSED GREEK!

That's right!!!  He passed Greek after 10 LONG and DIFFICULT weeks--it was such a relief for all of us, espeically Haune!  At the Sem there's a tradition where the guys get to jump in the fountain after they pass the exam.  This year they had a great turn out~all but one of their classmates passed!  Their professor even stated that Haune's class "... had by far the highest average of any class he's ever taught."  Haune also is a part of one of the largest classes the Sem has had in quite some time.  Pretty cool.

To celebrate this momentous occasion, a few of us Sem wives hosted a toga party.  We had a great turn out and a lot of fun.  I hope you enjoy these pictures and videos as much as I do!  WAY TO GO, HAUNE!!! :)

PURE BLISS!

He said that this is ONE of his proudest accomplishments. :)

The President of the LCMS just happened to be on campus, so Haune's class was able to pose in a photo op with him.

"One, two, three JUMP!"

Keeping true to the Greek theme, it was "Bring Your Own Kabob" night as well.

Time With Family--Part II

Finally, I'm all caught up with my blogging.  Here are some pictures and videos from our visit with the Hauans.  We had a wonderful time celebrating Eli's 1st birthday, going to the zoo, and chasing a 3, 2, 1, and 9 month old around the house. :)

3 years ago in August, this is what we were doing.  All watching cute little Yaya open up her presents with everyone's undivided attention...

Fast forward 3 years and 3 children and this is the best photo we can get. :)  LOVE IT!

My bird girl LOVED feeding the beautiful birds.  Great find, Chris!

A special treat for the kids.

Cousin bathtime is a must!

Eli had lots of great help opening up his birthday presents!

Yup, LOTS of help!
Happy birthday, "Cousin Cousin!"

Time with Family--Part I

Finally!  Here's our update from our recent visit to Hubbard.  We had a wonderful time with everyone.  Highlights included: Aunt Jane's 65th birthday, playing, reading, spending time on the deck, and simply enjoying the quietness of rural Iowa.  After living in the big city for 2 months, I was anxious to see some cornfields and wide open spaces again!

Aunt Jane has so many fun and new toys!

Silly Aunt Jane and her friend, Myrna, at Jane's b-day dinner.

She has him wrapped around her little finger!

Visiting Clem, Evie, and Denise.

She enjoyed looking at herself in Jane's big mirror during her haircut.

You'll get one someday soon too, Buddy.

I THINK I ATE AN ACRE OF SWEET CORN!  YUUUMMMMMMY!

Great Grandma Ramona came to visit as well.  They're just having a little girl talk.

My sweet boy.

Here's Julia in the same chair on the deck exactly one year ago.

Hoping to Update Soon...

Greetings, friends!  Whew, the past 10 days have been busy and fun for 3 out of 4 Hauans!  Unfortunately, Haune had to stay back in St. Louis for his Greek class... only 2 more weeks left!  (But who's counting?!)  We sure missed him and the kids were super happy to be back with Daddy this evening.

Here's what the kids and I have been up to: we traveled to Hubbard, Iowa to spend time with my family and from there we traveled to Omaha, Nebraska to spend time with Haune's family.  The kids did EXCELLENT in the car both to Hubbard and to Omaha, however, the way back home to St. Louis was a bit more difficult for all of us. :)  All in all, I'd say after a total of 16 hours on the road, they did pretty darn well.

I start back to work tomorrow morning and am feeling fairly fried from recently getting back from our adventure, thus, a blog update from our wonderful trips may take me a while to get to.

Please check back in a week or so... I hope to be caught up by then.  Until then, please know we love and miss you all! :)
