Como Zoo/Visit from Aunt Mary/Taste of Rochester/Visit from Katie

We've been busy since our last post!  Two weekends ago we met Haune's cousins Tony and Char Kinzley (as well as their three children), and my good friend Faye at the Como Zoo in St. Paul.  It's a fantastic little zoo and the best part of all is that it's FREE!  After the zoo the Kinzley's invited us over to their home for supper--we loved being able to spend time with them!  The next week Haune's Aunt Mary came to stay with us for a couple days from Rapid City.  She took some CEU hours at Mayo so it worked perfectly for us to be able to spend some time with her as well.  Mary, Julia LOVES the cowboy song you taught us!  Last Sunday we spent the afternoon with the Lanzas at our local "Taste of Rochester."  Yummy samples, good music, great company--what could be better?!  Earlier this week my former colleague from Waterloo, Katie, came to visit us with her two girls.  Although it was quite chilly, we were still able to have a bit of fun in Rochester.  The highlight of our excursions included the House of Bounce which is a warehouse full of huge inflatables.  It was the first time I had been there and we'll be sure to be back very soon!  (To my friend Stephanie Cathcart, I couldn't help but think of you and the boys while we were there--so sorry it wasn't on my radar when you were here in August.  They would have LOVED it!!!)  We're so thankful to be able to spend so much time with our dear friends and family members!

She loves this "puh-puh" and has to kiss it nearly every time she enters the house

We LOVED having Aunt Mary come to visit us!

  1. Oh don't you worry about us and bounce houses. Holden is scared of them. He likes to look at them but he will not get in them. I was surprised to see that Julia had no fear. . . that's great. That was very nice of you to think of us though. It was nice seeing pictures of Erica and Katie (I remember her from your wedding). Have a great weekend!
